The Cat Scan is an online magazine spearheaded by students in the School of Journalism at the University of Arizona. Our focus is environmental issues and sustainability in the Southwest.

We believe that every story is an environmental story. This motto is inspired by science writer and UA journalism professor Alan Weisman, whose reporting has sparked interest about these issues all over the world.

Our mission at the Cat Scan is to uncover and investigate environmental issues. We provide you with this information through staff-written online articles and blogs.

Environmental and sustainability issues exist globally. Being informed helps people take positive steps to protect the earth through daily lifestyle changes.
